Pricing and VAT Policy

Pricing and VAT Policy

1. Pricing Policy

We do not charge a sign-up fee or any ongoing fixed payments for the usage of the platform. All charges are made at the point of sale when a booking is confirmed.

We believe in full transparency regarding our pricing policy. Fees for the use of the platform are structured as follows:

For Businesses:

  • You, the Business, have full control over the pricing of your listings (the 'Listing Price').
  • We, the Platform, will deduct a Platform Fee as a percentage of the Listing Price, payable by you at the point of sale.
  • The Platform Fee is currently set at 5% of the Listing Price.

For Customers:

  • A Booking Fee is added to the Listing Price and payable by the Customer for using the Platform.
  • This Booking Fee is calculated as follows:
    • 8% of the Listing Price = A
    • 3% of (Listing Price + A) + £0.25 = B
    • Total Booking Fee = A + B

2. VAT Policy

VAT obligations depend on the type of activity booked and whether the business providing the activity is VAT-registered.

For Businesses:

  • Each Business is responsible for determining whether VAT applies to their services.
  • Businesses registered for VAT must include VAT in their listed prices and issue VAT-compliant invoices where required.
  • Dayzeout does not handle VAT collection for Businesses, and VAT-related obligations remain the sole responsibility of the Business.

For Customers:

  • Where a Business is VAT-registered, the Listing Price may include VAT, which will be displayed as part of the total price.
  • Customers should check the Business's policies or contact them directly if they require VAT invoices for their purchases.

For Dayzeout:

  • If Dayzeout is VAT-registered, VAT may be applied to the Platform Fee and Booking Fee, in which case it will be clearly disclosed before payment.
  • If VAT applies to the fees charged by Dayzeout, Businesses and Customers will receive VAT-compliant invoices where required.

3. Example Calculation

Scenario:

A business creates a listing and sets the price of 1 Adult ticket at £20.00.

Customer Charges:

  • Total charge payable by the Customer: £22.50
    • £20.00 Ticket Price
    • £2.50 Booking Fee (calculated as follows):
      • £20.00 x 8% = £1.60 → Intermediate total: £21.60
      • £21.60 x 3% = £0.65 → Intermediate total: £22.25
      • £22.25 + £0.25 flat fee = £22.50 (Total charge to Customer)

Business Charges:

  • Total Platform Fee deducted: £1.00
    • £20.00 x 5% = £1.00

4. Additional Considerations

  • Price Display: Customers will always see the total price payable upfront before confirming a booking.
  • Fee Updates: We reserve the right to amend the Platform Fee or Booking Fee structure with prior notice to businesses.
  • VAT Compliance: Businesses are responsible for their own VAT obligations under UK tax law.
  • Refunds & Cancellations: The Booking Fee is non-refundable to Customers if a cancellation is made by the Customer. The Platform Fee is non-refundable to the Business if a cancellation is made by the Business, unless otherwise stated in the cancellation policy of the Business or required under UK consumer law.

By listing on our platform, you acknowledge and agree to these pricing and VAT terms.
